JAM (Jesus and Me) is a group for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. They meet every Sunday from 3:30-4:30PM for various activities. There are five important words to remember for JAM: Glorification, Group, Grow, Give, and Go. These words will help you to learn the schedule.

We spend time glorifying God with fun songs, active prayers, and an interactive message from Kim Lauer. We play games and have fun together as a group who loves Jesus! Parents and siblings are invited to join us so that we can learn and grow together.  The youth have opportunities to give of their time and talents to help others. We make crafts, learn songs and skits, and find ways to serve others at Bethany, in the community, and around the world. We go somewhere for a fun event off campus.  We try to find a time to play games each week! If you have any questions, please contactKim Lauer, Minister of Children and Middle School Youth.

Dear 3rd-5th graders and families,

Parenting can be rough.  After a full day we can sometimes sit down in the quiet and think about all the mistakes we made.  Maybe we spoke too harsh, maybe we didn’t spend enough time playing with our children, maybe we forgot to mention God and His love at all that day.  We want to make our children happy, healthy, well adjusted little people.  We want to give them consistency and a level path. We all want the best for our children, but sometimes there doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day…or maybe there are too many depending on the day you are having.

Making a level path for our children simply means guiding them in the right direction. It’s stopping to help them recognize if they may have been heading the wrong way and giving them directions to get on the corrected course.  God gives us some guidance for this task as parents.

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.” Psalm 119:105

One way we can help to end a day that may be full of what we think are many mistakes is to spend time in scripture as a family.  His Word gives us direction and keeps us on the path that leads to Him.  His Word will speak to your child’s heart in ways we can’t even imagine.  Let God take some of the parenting burden off your shoulders and fill you and your children with peace and love as He guides you with His Word.

CIAlogoCompassion In Action Service Camp is for kids entering the 5th and 6th Grades in Fall 2013. It is a fun-filled, service-oriented, week-long adventure helping others. CIA Campers will be sharing God's love and wonderful message of salvation with all those they come in contact with. Youth are challenged in their faith to develop servant hearts for Christ. Past projects have included meals-on-wheels delivery, working at the Food Bank, organizing school kits for orphan children overseas, conducting a car wash to raise funds for the new children's hospital, building a prayer garden on campus, and other unique and challenging service projects.

Youth take a hands-on approach to serving the Lord and they work hard! We are always amazed at how hard these youth work and it is evident that they grow in their faith. This age group desires to have a purpose in the Church and in the community.
