Dear 3rd-5th graders and families,
Parenting can be rough. After a full day we can sometimes sit down in the quiet and think about all the mistakes we made. Maybe we spoke too harsh, maybe we didn’t spend enough time playing with our children, maybe we forgot to mention God and His love at all that day. We want to make our children happy, healthy, well adjusted little people. We want to give them consistency and a level path. We all want the best for our children, but sometimes there doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day…or maybe there are too many depending on the day you are having.
Making a level path for our children simply means guiding them in the right direction. It’s stopping to help them recognize if they may have been heading the wrong way and giving them directions to get on the corrected course. God gives us some guidance for this task as parents.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.” Psalm 119:105
One way we can help to end a day that may be full of what we think are many mistakes is to spend time in scripture as a family. His Word gives us direction and keeps us on the path that leads to Him. His Word will speak to your child’s heart in ways we can’t even imagine. Let God take some of the parenting burden off your shoulders and fill you and your children with peace and love as He guides you with His Word.
