A study of the "New Testament" with particular emphasis on the archaeology of the period in conjunction witha study of the Scriptures. The presenter is Professor Bert Ehrman, chairman of religious studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has a keen interest as well as expertise in Greco-Roman history. He will offer his textual interpretation of the New Testament.

The course of study is divided into roughly 3 segments;

• The New Testament with emphasis on Greco-Roman history
• The Gospels and what they teach us about Jesus
• The book of Acts, and what it teaches us about early Christians after Jesus' resurrection

A typical class would consist oftwo 30 min. DVDs, followed by about 30 minutes of discussionof the topics about which we read the past week as well as answers to several questions that will be posed.
