UPCOMING EVENTS

Future Facilities UpdateThe Bethany council has appointed a building committee to follow up on the future planning committee’s recommendation that Bethany pursue the building of additional facilities to expand our ministry and service to the Lord and community.  These facilities—buildings that FACILIATE ministry—are planned to include an activity/family life center, kitchen, fellowship areas and hopefully additional classrooms. The committee members are: Allen Menzel and Roxanne Cook, Co-chairs; James Froehlich, Theresa Gray, Ted Naumann, Ron Pope, Dan Rioux, Mark Schlimgen, and Barbara Siegwalt. We will be sending updates as the progress continues. Keep this important matter in your prayers.

The Building Committee recently interviewed four architectural firms concerning our expansion of facilities. They chose Pfluger and Associates, who were the architects of our present building. This firm will present some preliminary plans to the committee in three weeks.  Input from congregational groups will be sought as we move forward with this important project.

family camp out on November 5-7

Family campout planned If you and your family like to camp, and would like to do so with other Bethany families, in a great park at a beautiful time of year, we've got a deal for you.  We've just made some reservations for 20 campsites at Pedernales Falls State Park, for the weekend of Nov. 5-7.  If you've never been there, it's a beautiful area right on the Pedernales River, not far from Johnson City.  It's a great place to relax, have fun hiking around the limestone falls area, or grab your binoculars and look at the brilliant stars at night (we do not guarantee cloudless nights, however!).  The campsites have water and electricity, and pets are allowed.  If you have a camper, you should be able to join us but may have to make your own reservation.  As we get closer, we'll be asking for names. Contact Mark Boerger with questions.
