CALLING ALL GARDENERS (SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 4)

Join the Bethany Gardeners on Saturday, February 4(starting at 8:30AM) in cleaning up the flower gardens for the spring. Please bring hoes, rakes, trimmers, wheel barrows, and gloves.For more information, contact Allen Menzel (allenmenzel@yahoo.com).

HOUSING NEEDED FOR CONCORDIA CHOIR ON MARCH 13

We are providing housing that night for around 70 people and need your help!!  If you are able to house any of these students please contact Kathy White or leave a message on her voice mail through the church office.  Thank You!!!

FOOD COLLECTION

On the 1st Sunday of each month, we collect non-perishable food which we deliver directly to the Food Pantry at Abiding Love Lutheran Church in Southwest Austin. These donations will go directly to 40 to 70 families in need who are serviced by Abiding Love Lutheran. We will keep you up to date on most needed items, currently rice, cereal, tuna, and Mac/cheese. Proverbs 22:9 "A generous man will himself be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor."

SUNDAY SCHOOL WORKERS AND CHILDREN CHURCH NEEDED

We need Sunday School workers this fall for Growing in Christ (serving as teachers) and for children’s church. Teachers guide children through activities and take an active role in leading these children in their walk with Christ. Fun, engaging, unique activities and dramas each week! Contact Kim Lauer .

SPEAK ENGLISH?

Individuals at Bethany have an opportunity to serve as conversation partners for international students at UT, beginning this coming fall. This program is organized by University Lutheran Chapel. The requirement is for an adult to spend an hour a week just talking to a foreign student or spouse so that he or she may improve his or her English. No expertise or formal training required. This "work" is valuable to the student, can be very enjoyable to participate in, and in some cases even opens the door to faith conversations. Baby bottle fundraiser

This is a major fundraiser for the South Austin Pregnancy Resource Center. Pick up a baby bottle; collect loose change, dollar bills, or checks; and return it in a few weeks. The monies will help SAPRC with their many programs and projects. You can pick up a baby bottle near the Welcome Center.

Last year we had a small group but a wonderful time at Garner State Park. We talked it over and decided that Garner would be the place again this year. Huge oaks and cypress, room to spread out, campgrounds right next to the beautifully clear Frio River, hiking trails with great vistas; it’s hard to find a better spot. Whether you’re a single or couple, married with kids, single parent, etc., you’ll fit right in. Plan on joining us; we’ll ask for registration before long.
