In life, the rains will come -
Sometimes they're just a hazy mist that dampens the day. Other times they're a light
pitter-patter that is easily tolerable. Then there are the cleansing downpours that scrub off all
the caked on aftermath, and the dark, foreboding, swirling forces that chill to the bone. One
way or another, the rains, the trials of life, will come. Weathering those storms is just another
way God works in our lives to cultivate our faith. Like Noah, our hope is sealed in the rainbow
of His promises.
While stranded by a thunderous hurricane in a small airport on their way to a mission
project in Costa Rica, a group of young people think they're making the best of the situation.
In reality, the Holy Spirit is hard at work. These young people discover more about the hope
that God has sown in their souls in that little airport than they ever anticipated.
Through the waters of the flood, God started over clean with Noah, a man of faith who
trusted him. In baptism, God cleanses our souls, claims us as His child and starts us out on
our own journey of faith. Every rainbow we see in the sky is a banner proclaiming our hope,
like Noah's, in God's unwavering promises.
2Cor. 1:20 For no matter how many promises God has made,
they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through him the "Amen" is spoken
by us to the glory of God.
Kudos
I just want to thank you for a beautiful and meaningful program that your singers performed today at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in CA. I was truly moved by the talent and the content of the program. It is a pleasure to see young people spreading the word of Christ in such a fantastic manner. My grandchildren who usually fig-it and struggle to get to the end of the service, sat there today and listened to every word and song that was said and sung. Thank you again for the wonderful performance and please tell everyone involved how we appreciate them.
In Christ Name,
