Encouraging Word with Chaplain Muchow
For July and August in the CLC Fellowship Hall

Chaplain Muchow leads a five-week study in the Book of Job that involves a close look at the rationale used by Job's four counselors to give comfort and support to their stricken friend.  For good reasons, Job says they offer no hope at all. What Job really wants is face time with God ... and that he gets ... and a whole lot more!  All who are curious about why bad things happen to good people might find this course not only interesting, but also helpful in relating to acquaintances who suffer pain and turmoil.

Operation Christmas Child Volunteers Needed

Are you looking for an opportunity to serve and make a difference in a child’s life?  We would love to have you join Bethany’s Operation Christmas Child team.  Our team works together throughout the year to organize, promote, and pray for the Operation Christmas Child ministry.  There are a variety of ways to serve such as processing shoeboxes during collection week, publicity, spirit night fundraisers, community and church relations or serving on our prayer team.

Sowing Simple Gifts Ministry

The newest ministry at Bethany! We were blessed when nine ladies came forward to participate in this new ministry that was created to encourage participation in the Operation Christmas Child project.  We will be knitting or crocheting scarves and hats, making drawstring book bags, Rubber Band Bracelets, and collecting tennis balls. These are items that will be presented to the congregation at a future date.  IF you are packing a shoebox gift for OCC we will GIVE you something to put in your shoebox gift! The rubber band bracelets are all the rage right now, and your children are probably already making these. This would be a great summer project for them.  We could use your help with the supplies that we need.  Look for the 2 hampers in the Welcome Center where you can donate skeins of yarn or material (1/2 yard of material & 36” shoestrings per book bag), and tennis balls. What a joy it is to know that the ‘fruit of our labor’ will bless a child!

Sports Are Back at Bethany

After an 11-year absence, we’re having a great time being able to use our new gym for some fun adult competition.  Enjoy a good mix of competitive and wanna-be players.  Feel free to bring a friend. Please contact Mark Boerger if you have any questions.
